As multiple-time regional champion of a hunting rifle shooting competition and two-time German junior champion at the F.I.T.A.S.C Sporting competition, Robin Marx is without doubt up there as one of the most seasoned sport hunters. The fact that he wanted to make the attempt with his Bockdrilling under simulated conditions, rather than at an official competition, is of course more than understandable. After all, as a sport hunter you should be committed to your team and always have the best possible results in sight. As it happens, the lack of a second shotgun barrel disqualified the BD14 from the genuine competition anyway.
On unfamiliar terrain
A great score in the Groß Gold with just one weapon, the Bockdrilling BD14. What an exciting experiment!
If you can use your BD14 like a seasoned pro when hunting, you will manage standing without support, standing leaning against a tree and in the lying shooting position required at the shooting range.
At the end of the day, Robin Marx ought to be congratulated for the result he achieved with the BD14. He scored 324 points, which would have earned him the “Sonderstufe 1 / S1” shooting pin badge at the Groß Gold competition. This just goes to show the BD14 can be used universally and achieve precision despite its three completely different calibres.
