Of course, Bill McGuire couldn’t resist taking up a gun himself. He spontaneously shot two of the three stages of the competition with a borrowed F3 and, despite a very strong field against him, surprised no one by delivering what was by far the highest score. Most likely, Bill McGuire would have also been the top shooter in the third stage. But then he thought better of it, and instead of shooting the final stage he lived up to his reputation as a shooting coach to the benefit of the rest of the field. The other shooters were by all means very grateful for his assistance.
