10 years… and not gone quiet yet

The S 101 fits seamlessly into the family tree of non-modular hunting rifles from the Sauer 80 and Sauer 90 ancestors. Their smooth bolt action and elegant, timeless design demonstrate what has distinguished a true Sauer rifle for over 270 years: beautiful hunting rifles that can do a lot more than just look good. It is the only hunting rifle on the market with a firing pin safety system that is indisputably the most effective of all safety systems. The slide lock is in the perfect ergonomic position on the bolt safety shroud, so hunters can operate is easily and completely silently with the rifle mounted.

Another detail that makes the S 101 a reliable hunting companion is the internal firing pin lock. It ensures that the rifle can be fired only when it is one hundred per cent locked. The button behind the bolt handle additionally makes it possible to open the chamber while the safety is on.

Precision has been an unassailable component of the Sauer DNA for over 270 years. The Sauer 101 has raised this virtue to yet another level. The reason: The patented EVER REST system bedding, where the bedding element is bonded into the stock and the system is fixed therein with two bolts. Similar to the legendary Sauer 202, this decouples the shooting system from the stock so that outside influences no longer have any influence on the point of impact or the firing performance.

After launching with a wooden stock (S 101 Classic) and a polymer stock version (S 101 Classic XT) in 2013, the S 101 series now offers ten different models, which have already set several records: From the compact Artemis version for petite women and men and the sensationally lightweight Highland XTC, which is currently probably the world’s lightest bolt action rifle thanks to its carbon fibre stock, to the highly affordable Silence GTI version with integrated sound suppressor.

The most recent products from the S 101 series in particular demonstrate the benefits of combining the best materials and product features. The new S 101 Highland XTA, for example, combines the superior concept of the DLC coating on the barrel and housing from the S 101 Highland XTC with the benefits of the soft-touch stock and adjustable comb from the S 101 Classic XTA. The result: A rifle that is robust, weather-resistant and ergonomic with a classic design – at an unbeatable price!

The new S 101 sets a counterpoint to the Highland XTA. It introduced the concept of the timeless premium design properties from the Sauer 404 into the S 101 series: Wood grade 4 with a red butt plate, the jewelled chamber and the aluminium bolt handle ball in combination with all its technically mature design elevate the S 101 to a true masterpiece.
